The design cost of up to 8% of the house price shall be added to the house price.

What should the foundation of a log house be like?

Strip foundation is considered to be the best foundation for building a log house. Pile foundations and joint strip and pile foundations are also used. When ordering a house, we shall provide you with the necessary instructions for making the foundation.

Can clients mount the house themselves?

Yes, clients can mount the house themselves. However, in order to achieve the best results it is advisable to use our expertise. In this case we will provide the house with a two-year guarantee. You can also order only an instructor to guide some of the work.

How much does mounting cost?

The mounting cost depends on the object and the amount of work but it is generally about 30% of the house price.

What wood is used?

Our houses are built of the pine or spruce fell in winter.

What are the logs treated with?

External walls of the house are usually treated with natural oils (flax oil) or Pinotex Natural that protect the wood texture and preserve the natural wood colour. On request, all logs can be treated with Sinesto to prevent blueing.

How are the houses insulated?

For insulation between the logs, we use mainly flax felt. However, on request, it is also possible to use moss. Insulation of roof, ceilings and floors is similar to other house types, i.e. mainly by rockwool.

How much does a log house sink and does sinking create any problems?

The presumable sinking is about 4% over time (4 cm per metre). The humidity level of a wooden house becomes stable after 2-3 years. Sinking shall not create problems if the peculiarities of log houses are considered during construction.

Does a house made of seasoned logs sink?

Yes. It is a common mistake to believe that houses made of seasoned logs do not sink. When constructing a house of seasoned logs, all the rules applied to the naturally seasoned logs should be followed.
